TOWSON, Md. —Baltimore County Councilman Todd Huff has been charged with driving under the influence, according to Baltimore County police spokesman Shawn Vinson.

Vinson confirmed to 11 News that a police officer spotted Huff driving his county-owned Jeep Grand Cherokee with its headlights off Saturday at about 3 a.m.

According to the police report, Huff stopped for a red light on York Road at Bosley Avenue past the crosswalk. When the light turned green, the officer initiated a traffic stop. Huff pulled his vehicle into the Brooks Huff Tire Center, which his family owns, and where he serves as operations manager.

According to the police report, Huff told the officer, “Don’t you know who I am? You stopped me on my own property.”

Huff went through a breath test at about 4 a.m., and according to the police report, the breath sample registered .20 grams of alcohol per 210 liters of breath.

Huff was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol, failure of vehicle on highway to display lighted lamps (headlight violation) and negligent driving. He was then released to family.

According to Vinson, there was no indication that Huff was not cooperating with police.

Huff is a freshman Republican representing the 3rd Council District.
