A big defense contractor in Baltimore County is planning a round of layoffs.
A spokeswoman at AAI confirmed that the company will let 184 workers go at its Hunt Valley location.
The decision comes as the federal government contemplates possible budget line cuts in defense.
Sharon Corona of AAI told WBAL News the decision will help AAI restructure and remain competitive.
AAI designs and builds unmanned aircraft for the military.
Corona said there are layoffs planned at other AAI sites not in Maryland.
Earlier this month another defense related contractor, Northrop Grumman, announced 90 layoffs at its Timonium site.
