The Maryland Capitol Police are activity recruiting for the following Positions to fill the ranks of Police Officer II, Sergeant and Lieutenant.

> The Department of General Services Maryland Capitol Police (DGS-MCP) provides law enforcement and security for 30 State buildings, 10 parking garages, and 16 surface parking lots used by State employees and visited by over one million people annually.  MCP is comprised of sworn police officers, security officers, and police communication operators.  The Department has detachments in Annapolis and Baltimore.  MCP not only provides traditional law enforcement services, but also focuses on physical security of buildings, property, and State employees.

> We currently have several openings for Police Officer II in the Annapolis Detachment for all shifts. Baltimore Detachment opening will be in the future.  Shifts are permanent Night ,Day, Late.
>
> Great opportunity for a retired or retiring Trooper/ Police Officer, Sergeant or Lieutenant.  Retired Trooper/Police Officer may apply for the Sergeant openings and Sergeants for the Lieutenant Positions as long as minimum requirements are meet. State Employees must be separated from service for a minimum of 45 days.

> Police Officer II – Minimum requirements
>
> Education: High School diploma or G.E.D. certificate acceptable to the Maryland State Board of Education as described in the Maryland Police and Correctional Training Commission regulation.
>
> Experience: Six months of experience as a certified law enforcement officer and currently holds a valid Maryland Police Training Certificate.
>
> Starting Estimated Salary – $45,835
>
> Sergeant – Minimum requirements
>
> Education: High School diploma or G.E.D. certificate acceptable to the Maryland State Board of Education as described in the Police Training Commission regulation.
>
> Experience: Three years of experience as a certified law enforcement officer and currently holds a valid Maryland Police Training Certificate.
>
> Notes: 1. The above educational requirement is set by the Police Training Commission in accordance with Article 41, Section 4 201.
>
> An Associate degree from an accredited college in law enforcement, criminology or related social sciences may be substituted for one year of the required experience.
>
> Starting Estimated Salary – $52,043

> Lieutenant – Minimum requirements
>
> Education: High School diploma or G.E.D. certificate acceptable to the Maryland State Board of Education as described in the Maryland Police and Correctional Training Commission regulation.
>
> Experience: Two years of experience supervising certified law enforcement officers and currently holds a valid Maryland Police Training Certificate.
>
> Note: The above educational requirement is set by the Maryland Police and Correctional Training Commission in accordance with the Annotated Code of Maryland, Public Safety Article, Section 3-207.
>
