Gov. O’Malley has ordered that the United States and state flags be flown at half-staff in memory of a soldier killed in Afghanistan.

O’Malley ordered the flags be lowered on Friday from sunrise to sunset in memory of Army Spc. Ronald Wildrick Jr. of Woodsboro.

The 30-year-old soldier was killed Dec. 11 by a roadside bomb in Kunar province.

A service was held Thursday in Woodsboro and Wildrick’s remains will be buried Friday at Arlington National Cemetery.
