A Hagerstown woman who assaulted a neighbor in his home while wearing nothing but a bridal skirt and veil is going to prison.
A judge sentenced Melissa Wagaman, 33, to five years in prison on Thursday.
A jury convicted her Nov. 4 of second-degree assault, fourth-degree burglary and reckless endangerment for the February attack on Aaron Parrott.
Wagaman testified at her trial that a combination of over-the-counter cold medicine and marijuana apparently made her hallucinate that she was getting married and that her mother was locked in Parrott’s basement.
Prosecutors say Wagaman has a history of drug-induced crimes, including a 2007 conviction for fleeing and eluding police.
Wagaman apologized to the Parrotts during Thursday’s hearing.
