A memorial tribute gets underway at 11 this morning at Goucher College for WBAL’s late “Voice of Reason” for 3 decades.

Popular talk host Ron Smith died last month following a short bout with inoperable pancreatic cancer.

Doors at the Kraushaar Auditorium open at 10 for Ron’s listeners, friends, colleagues, and loved ones.

Among those offering eulogies today, Blair Lee of the Montgomery Gazette, Stan Stovall, anchor of WBAL TV, Gerry Sandusky, Sports Director at WBAL TV, and Jonathan Murray, WBAL financial analyst.

Donations are being accepted from attendees to help support pancreatic cancer research at Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Ron dominated the talk airwaves in Baltimore on WBAL radio for almost 30 years.

Before that Ron was a TV news anchor at WBAL Channel 11.

If you can’t make it in person you can hear the memorial on AM 1090, or listen here online at wbal.com…or watch on WBAL Plus.
