Police have arrested four teenagers they believe are responsible for placing a delivery order for pizza and then assaulting the deliveryman and stealing his car.

Police say 17-year-old Yazell Ronnie Spencer, 17, of 8310 Autumn Way in Jessup, ordered a pizza for delivery on the evening of Saturday, July 16. Police believe that when the deliveryman arrived at the 9100 block of Thamesmeade Road in Savage around 7:30 p.m., Spencer and co-conspirator Niles Anthony Mercer, 16, of 8550 Washington Boulevard in Jessup, grabbed him and stole his car keys and cash.

Then, Spencer and Mercer — along with Kevin Murillo-Osorio, 18, of 8840 Willowwood Way in Jessup, and a 15-year-old female from Columbia whose name is not being released by police — stole the deliveryman’s 2010 Toyota 4Runner, according to police.

Officers found the four teenagers driving the stolen vehicle at 2 a.m. Sunday, July 17, in the 9200 block of Washington Boulevard in Laurel and apprehended everyone but Spencer, who fled from police and was located and arrested on Wednesday, July 20.

All four individuals are charged with carjacking, robbery, second-degree assault, motor vehicle theft, theft and conspiracy to commit carjacking. All but the 15-year-old are being charged as adults.

Murillo-Osorio was released from Howard County Detention Center on Monday, July 18 after posting $25,000 bond. Mercer and Spencer are currently awaiting bond hearings at the Howard County Detention Center.
