Cellular Phone Offers

CELLULAR PHONE INFORMATION (Revised)

***Please note that all former Association Rate Plans have been replaced by Government Employee Only Rate Plans.***

The following cellular providers are offering various basic wireless phone packages, programs and promotions. The current offers may be revised, replaced or eliminated by the providers for digital and other service packages and equipment currently on the market. Please also note that unfortunately retirees are not eligible for the monthly discount calling plan cellular program offers or any discounted phone promotions that are now available only to actively employed government employees of local, county and/or state of Maryland (and assuming Federal) government agencies:

*CINGULAR Wireless (formerly AT&T Wireless)

No Direct Sales Rep. … You should visit any Cingular Wireless Store or any authorized agent of your choice to receive the basic wireless service plans currently available to the general public through this provider. Actively employed members only need to refer to State of MD Foundation Account # 64589 and show proof of active governmental employment to qualify for the current government employee benefits, discounts, etc. (Retirees are excluded from the government employee plans offered by this provider.)

*NEXTEL

No Direct Sale Rep. … Call 1-800-NEXTEL9 (1-800-639-8359) for further information. Proof of employment is required. (Retirees are excluded from the government employee plans offered by this provider.)

*VERIZON Wireless

No Direct Sales Rep. … You should visit any VERIZON Wireless Store or any authorized agent of your choice to receive the basic wireless service plans currently available to the general public through this provider. No further referral is required for the basic service plans themselves when visiting a VERIZON Wireless Store. However, if you are an actively employed government worker you need to call 410-591-1221 (a recorded message line) to receive the current government employee benefits, discounts, etc. You will need to show proof of active governmental employment to qualify. (… You guessed it! Retirees are excluded from the government employee plans offered by this provider.)

Please note: The previous Lodge4 Verizon Wireless Corporate Account Rate Plan ended on December 31, 2006 and is no longer available.
The Lodge does not endorse any one provider and makes no recommendation of any cellular provider listed. You should always “shop around” for the provider and plan that best fits your cellular needs and budget. And make sure the phone and service will work where you will be using it the most before buying any wireless phone service and equipment.

… And, as they like to say … Service may not be available in all areas. … No kidding! /lrs
