Sheriff Commander Fired Following Shoplifting Charges

Wednesday, December 01, 2010 – Steve Fermier and Baltimore Sun

A command staff deputy sheriff in Harford County is out of a job because of alleged shoplifting.

Major Mark Forwood was fired yesterday after he was stopped by police at a Home Depot in Bel Air on charges of theft.

Forwood was investigated outside of the store on Sunday carrying two tool boxes that he had paid for.

He was not arrested at the time but charged later, The Sun reported.

But police said that inside were a number of items including tools that he had not paid for.

Forwood had been suspended for unspecified misconduct earlier this year.
