Team Reason is planning to host a golf tournament in April to raise money for pancreatic cancer treatment and research at the Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center.
The charity was formed by the family and friends of WBAL talk show host Ron Smith who died of the disease last month.
The Ron Smith Annual Golf Tournament is set for Friday, April 27, at Bon Air Country Club in Glen Rock, Pennsylvania.
The tournament will start at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start.
The $150 entrance fee includes a continental breakfast and lunch, as well as gift bags.
There will be a silent auction as well.
Patrick Hart, co-founder of Team Reason, says organizers hope to raise between $5,000 and $10,000.
Hart says there are plans to make the tournament an annual event. He says Team Reason is also planning to hold other fundraisers.
Hart says interested golfers can register for the tournament via email. The address is firstname.lastname@example.org.
Team Reason also continues to sell bumper stickers, car magnets, golf shirts and t-shirts to raise money.
