Vice Squad Shuts Down Poker Operation

Thursday, February 17, 2011 – Steve Fermier

Baltimore County’s vice squad put an illegal gambling operation in Edgemere out of business.

A tip sent officers to the Lynch Point Social Club on Roger Road.

An undercover sting was set up and last week the cops moved in…arresting more than 40 people in alleged illegal “Texas Hold ‘Em” games.

Now about a half dozen people face misdemeanor level gambling related charges.

Police seized poker chips and machines and thousands of dollars in cash.

Police said Michael Gilbert admitted running the operation which has been going on for more than a year.

The house take each night was reported to be well over a thousand dollars.
