On Thursday, December 3, 1970, 32 cautious and brave souls met, founded and chartered Baltimore County Lodge No. 4, of the Fraternal Order of Police. This was not something very popular with the then Baltimore County government and police department leadership.
From those early uncertain beginnings, Lodge4 has grown to an actively employed and retired membership today of 2,818.
Today the Lodge thanks and salutes all of those members who have taken Lodge leadership roles over the past 40 years and who gave not only of their time and talents but also their treasures along the way.
Thanks, also, to those many police officers who joined and supported the efforts of the Lodge to make Baltimore County a better place in which to work and live.
… Happy Anniversary! …
