The Baltimore County Fire Department will receive nearly $2 million in Homeland Security funding to upgrade firefighting equipment and improve a fire station.
A $1,750,000 grant will pay for 60 Life-Pak 12 units and ensure each station throughout the county is equipped with the technology for emergency resuscitation and chest compression.
In addition, the Arbutus Volunteer Fire Department will receive $90,000 to install a sprinkler system in the oldest section of its station on Southwestern Boulevard. The grant will also allow the company to purchase a high-tech thermal imaging camera that can track a fire’s path within a structure.
