Baltimore County’s Office of Budget and Finance has been awarded a Certificate of Recognition for Budget Preparation by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for achieving the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award.
This award recognizes the County’s budget presentation for the current fiscal year.
The award indicates that the County’s FY 2011 budget satisfies guidelines for effective budget presentation. The guidelines assess how well the budget serves as a policy document, a financial plan and an operations guide, as well as a communications tool.
GFOA is a nonprofit association that serves more than 17,000 government finance professionals throughout North America. The GFOA’s Distinguished Budget Presentation Awards Program is the only national awards program in governmental budgeting.
