Baltimore City police say a man who was applying to become an officer collapsed and died after finishing a fitness test run.
Department spokesman Anthony Guglielmi says the 29-year-old man had passed the civil service exam and was taking the physical agility test at Northwest High School on Friday morning. He says the man collapsed immediately after he finished the 1.5 mile run on a track. Two of the other people taking the test were medics and tried to treat the man. He was taken to Sinai Hospital, where Guglielmi says the man was pronounced dead. Guglielmi says the man did not indicate any health issues to instructors and he appeared to be in good health. Police have not released the man’s name. |
