The Baltimore County Democratic Central Committee is holding interviews Tuesday evening to determine who will fill the senate seat left vacant by new County Executive Kathy Klausmeier.

The Democratic Central Committee will interview Dels. Harry Bhandari and Carl Jackson will interview at 6 p.m. Tuesday as they prepare to vote to replace Klausmeier. The Baltimore County Council selected Klausmeier to serve as the jurisdiction’s acting executive following the resignation of Johnny Olszewski Jr., a Democrat who was elected to the House of Representatives in November.

Klausmeier is the first woman to serve as Baltimore County executive.

Bhandari, who ran in the Democratic primary election to replace the congressional seat to replace former U.S. Congressman C.A. Dutch Ruppersberger, and Jackson are both in their second term in the Maryland House of Delegates.

The interviews can be viewed Tuesday night on the Baltimore County Democratic Party’s Facebook page.
