Husband of Sister Darlene Peters (Ret), Father of Brother Andrew Peters (Pc12) and Brother Matthew Peters (Pc11).

Michael Douglas Peters, 71, of Sparrows Point, Maryland, passed away on May 28, 2024.

Michael was born on February 19, 1953, in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late John and Elva Peters. He is survived by his loving wife Darlene, children Andrew, Matthew, and John, daughter-in-law Katrina, grandchildren Brody and Brewer, and sister Susan Maddox. He was preceded in death by his parents, father John Peters, mother Elva Peters, siblings Barbara, John III, Margaret, and Elva.

Michael attended Sparrows Point High School before embarking on a distinguished career. He served with the Baltimore County Police Department for 20 years. He started as a cadet and worked his way up to achieving the rank of Sergeant. Additionally, he worked as a Tugboat Operator, demonstrating his strong work ethic and dedication.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Michael found joy in various hobbies. He had a passion for model trains, adored his dogs, cherished old vinyl records, enjoyed working on wooden boats and tractors, and simply relished being outdoors. He was incredibly handy when it came to home improvement. He built decks, additions to the house, and other structures. He could fix just about anything.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at a public viewing on Monday, June 3, 2024, from 2:00 pm- 6:00 pm at Connelly Funeral Home of Dundalk, 7110 Sollers Point Road. A funeral service to celebrate Mike’s life will be held at the funeral home the following day beginning at 10:30 am.

A graveside service will take place immediately following the service at Holly Hill Memorial Gardens, 10201 Bird River Road.

Michael will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
