Ronald D. Long, Sr. of Easton, MD, passed away at his home on Wednesday, September 11, 2024. He was 76 years old.
Born in Baltimore, MD on September 10, 1948, Mr. Long was the son of the late Charles Albert Long and Mary Ellen Moser Long. He was a graduate of Franklin High School. He served for 16 years as a Baltimore County Homicide Detective until retiring in 1989. He then became President of corporate security for Pinkerton/Securitas until retiring in 2020. Locally, he was a co-owner of the Dairy Queen in Denton. He was also a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Easton and was a Board Member of the Choptank River Yacht Club in Denton. He liked to boat, hunt, fish and crab but, most of all, he was a great husband, father, and grandfather.
Mr. Long is survived by his wife, Anne E. Long of Easton; a daughter, Amy M. Long and her daughter, Kathryn Saunders, both of Manchester, MD; a son, Ronald D. Long, Jr. (Dawn) and their 3 children: Madelyn Long, Lillian Long, and Ronald Long, III, all of Hanover, PA; a step daughter, Sarah Barnett and her children, Hailey Aldinger and Bryson Gross, all of York, PA; and a stepson, Corey Barnett (Whitney) and their daughter, Blaire Barnett, all of York, PA.
A memorial service time and place will be announced later. If friends wish to send a memorial donation in memory of Mr. Long, the family suggests sending them to the Talbot Hospice Foundation, Inc., 586 Cynwood Drive, Easton, MD 21601.
