On November 29, 2024, Brother Michael Joseph Snyder, 65, went home to be with the Lord. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland on February 10, 1959 to the late Robert F. Snyder and Anita M. (nee Salamone). Mike held many jobs in his lifetime from catering, to teaching Physical Education, to a career in Law Enforcement. He was a dedicated Police Officer and School Resource Officer for Baltimore County, Maryland, retiring after 26 years of service.

Mike is survived by his wife Peggy J. (nee Sullivan) of over 42 years of marriage. In addition to his wife, Mike is also survived by his son Drew M. Snyder and wife Elizabeth K., daughter Abbey L. Stanford and husband Timothy K., and grandsons Miles and Chase.

Mike leaves behind his brother Daniel Snyder, brother Christopher Snyder and wife Donna and their daughter Siara . Sister-in-law Anita Snyder and niece Shannon Inches. Sister-in-law Janice Christofield, and nephew Timothy Christofield and wife Megan, niece Sarah Manlick and husband Christopher and their children Kallie and Izaiah.

He is preceded in death by his brother Robert Snyder, sister Mary Snyder-Vogel, and brothers-in-law Michael Sullivan and Gus Christofield.

Mike was a loving husband, father, and friend. He was a baseball enthusiast and enjoyed visiting major league baseball parks with his son. Vacationing at Disney World with his family held a special place in his heart. He took great pride in collecting police patches and challenge coins from around the world. He will be remembered for his compassion, unwavering faith, and kindness, and his influence will remain in the hearts of all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at Clifford Baptist Church, 635 Fletchers Level Road, Amherst, Virginia 24521 on December 13, 2024. Visitation will begin at 12:30pm with service beginning at 1:00pm. Light refreshments will immediately follow the service in the Social Hall.
