Richard “Rick” John Burinsky, amazing husband, father, brother, son and cat lover, peacefully died in his Catonsville home on Thursday, December 26, 2024, surrounded by his wife and children. He was 56 years old.
Born in Baltimore on January 2, 1968, Rick grew up in Westminster and Catonsville, Md. and attended Mount Saint Joseph High School. He met his high school sweetheart, Laurie, when they were coworkers at McDonald’s. He told Laurie he “McLoved” her and they were together for 40 years.
Rick graduated from UMBC and worked at Ascension Saint Agnes Hospital for 32 years before transitioning to vice president of financial planning and analysis at Luminis Health in Annapolis. Rick was passionate about his job and loved his coworkers.
Rick and Laurie had two children, Alexander (29) and Madison (25), whom they raised in Catonsville. Rick loved cooking, shopping, going to the movies, watching reality television, playing games and reading by his pool (without sunblock). He had a witty sense of humor and was especially proud of his great hair. The family is heartbroken, but knows that Rick is finally at peace in, as he would say, “the movie theater in the sky.”
