A Baltimore County judge has rescheduled the trial of a man accused of shooting two police officers last year and igniting a manhunt.
Circuit Judge Dennis M. Robinson Jr. has set the trial of David Linthicum to begin on Sept. 16, according to court records. The case has twice been postponed.
Linthicum, 25, of Cockeysville, is charged with five counts of attempted first-degree murder and related offenses. He’s accused of shooting Baltimore County Police Officer Barry Jordan and Detective Jonathan Chih in 2023. They survived.
Police first responded to Linthicum’s home on Powers Avenue above Sherwood Road after his father, John, or Whit, called and reported that his son was experiencing suicidal thoughts.
