The D.C. police officer charged with murder last Friday in the death of a Maryland woman was ordered held without bond in Prince George’s County District Court Monday.

Richmond Phillips, who was charged with first- and second-degree murder in the death of Wynetta Wright, 20, has also been charged with manslaughter in the death of her baby daughter, Jaylin.

Authorities say Phillips, 39, shot Wright in the head, left her body in a park, drove her car up a hill and left the child in it.

Police say Phillips shot the woman a day before he was scheduled in court for a paternity hearing to determine if he was Jaylin’s father.

Jaylin’s first birthday would have been today.
