|A Harford County sheriff’s deputy was flown to Shock Trauma this morning after an alleged drunk driver slammed into his patrol car.
Deputy first class Brad Sives of the Southern Precinct was treated and released.
He was trapped inside the cruiser for almost an hour after a car crossed the median and went airborne…striking the deputy’s patrol car on the driver’s side.
It happened near the intersection of routes 40 and 152 around 2:30 this morning, between Joppatowne and Edgewood.
The 21 year old driver…Kevin Johnstone of Edgewood…was not hurt but now faces DUI and other charges.
A passenger, also escaped injury.
