Havre de Grace police say they are searching for a man who made a half-hearted robbery attempt outside M&T Bank on Tuesday.

The man, who was apparently drunk, approached a woman at an ATM outside the bank, at 1500 Blenheim Farm Lane, at 5 p.m.

He is not the same person suspected in a string of armed robberies between Perryville and Baltimore County, Officer Jeff Gilpin said.

Gilpin said the would-be robber demanded the woman’s money, but “by the time she turned around, he was in the car and leaving.”

Police are nevertheless looking for the man, described only as a white man in his mid- to late twenties, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, with no facial hair, wearing a sweatshirt and a baseball cap.
