A spokeswoman for the U.S. attorney’s office in Maryland said Friday that federal authorities have arrested Prince George’s County Executive Jack Johnson.

Marcy Murphy, the spokeswoman, did not know yet what the county executive has been charged with.

The 61-year-old Johnson has been the county executive since 2002. He was the county’s state’s attorney for eight years before becoming the county’s chief executive.
