Former State Trooper Convicted Of Misconduct

Thursday, February 17, 2011 – Anne Kramer
The Attorney General’s Office says a 40-year-old former Maryland State Trooper has been convicted of misconduct in office.

Prosecutors say the 17 year veteran of the State Police took part in overtime assignments at the Woodrow Wilson Bridge from July 2009 to January 2010 and during that time submitted false records for overtime work.

Investigators say David Thomas Junior received $5500 as a result of lying about his overtime work.

Thomas resigned from the State Police in March of last year.

A Prince George’s County judge sentenced Thomas to 18 months of probation and ordered him to pay back the money.
