The lodge regrets to announce the passing of Retired member Gerald Thompson Holden, Jr.

Gerald Thompson Holden, Jr. 74, of Westminster, passed away Thursday, January 7, 2021 at his home, following a long illness. He was also known as “Jerry,” “Harry,” and “The Colonel,” to name a few.

Born June 28, 1946 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Gerald Thompson Holden, Sr. and Helen Matilda Fox Holden. Twice married, he was the husband of the late Linda Ann Lindhurst Holden and Karen Hall Holden.

Jerry was a Baltimore County police officer for 18 years. He was a life member of the Fraternal Order of Police. He was also a member of the 43rd Virginia Partisan Rangers and was very active in Civil War reenactments. He was a member of the Border State Rangers Camp 2202 of the Sons of Confederate Veterans. He loved riding motocycles.

Surviving, in addition to his wife Karen, are his children and their spouses, Gerri Lynn and Kenneth Dale Haines, Jr. of Berkeley Springs, WV, George Scott and Ashley Dryfoos Holden of Olney, MD, and Virginia Lee and Matthew Murphy of Bethesda, MD; grandchildren, Taylor Ann Tyser and husband Austin Blaine Tyser of Berkeley Springs, WV, Levi Edward Haines of Berkeley Springs, WV, and Sadie Ann Holden of Olney, MD.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 14, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. at the Eline Funeral Home, 2901 Bloom Road, Finksburg, MD. Interment will be in Druid Ridge Cemetery.
