No Jail For Officers Convicted Of Misconduct

Thursday, June 02, 2011 – Steve Fermier
Two police officers who were accused of leaving two teens stranded away from the city have been sentenced.

Tryone Francis and Milton Smith get to keep their badges for now.

But a city judge gave them probation and suspended jail sentences.   They must do community service.

They were acquitted of the more serious charges of kidnapping and assault but found guilty of misconduct.

Two teens were dropped off away from the city two years ago one in East Baltimore and the other at Patapsco Valley State Park.

The one left there had no shoes. It also was raining.

This was city state’s attorney Gregg Bernstein’s first case he personally argued.
