A spokeswoman for the U.S. attorney’s office in Maryland says federal authorities have arrested Prince George’s County Executive Jack Johnson and his wife, Leslie, today.

It is not yet know what the Johnsons have been charged with.

Johnson, 61, has been the county executive since 2002. He was the county’s state’s attorney for eight years before becoming the county’s chief executive.

Leslie Johnson, also 61, was recently elected to a Prince George’s County Council seat.
