Search Is On For Teen Who Fired Shots At Police

Authorities in Maryland are searching for an 18-year-old Wicomico County man police say fired shots at a state trooper.When a trooper stopped to check on a Honda CRV parked along the side of Longfield Drive near Hebron early Friday, police say Wyatt Young sat up and fired at the trooper though the driver’s side window of the SUV.Police believe Young fired a total of three times before speeding off. Neither the trooper nor his cruiser was hit.

The trooper pursued the SUV, but lost sight of it. Troopers have obtained a warrant charging Young with first- and second-degree attempted murder, assault, reckless endangerment and weapons charges.

Anyone with information about Young’s whereabouts is asked to call police. Police say he is believed to be armed and dangerous.
