Detective John Charles (Charlie) Coleman is a Police officer currently assigned to the Baltimore County Police Department’s VNS East Community Drug Unit.
In August of 2007 his daughter, Karlie, 11 months old, was diagnosed with an anaplastic ependymoma (brain cancer). She went through surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy.
In early September of 2013 he and his wife were told that the cancer had returned. Karlie is now 7 years old and is an amazing child. She has been through so much and is now fighting her second battle with cancer. She recently had surgery to remove the tumor and is doing well. The next step in her recovery will be radiation treatments. The radiation treatments will be at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. The family will have to temporarily reside in Boston for approximately six weeks in order to be with Karlie and complete the treatments.
If you would like to make a donation to help the Coleman family offset the cost, they have set up a You Caring Page to assist with giving donations.
